Hello, my name is Alex. I'm fundraising for my beautiful daughter Gabriella. In 2013 she was born with a Diaphragmatic hernia and spent the first few months of her life in the Children's hospital in Minneapolis MN. Now she is 7 years old and strong, beautiful, and courageous. But we are in the hospital once again for repairs to her diaphragm. As she has grown the mesh replacement moved away from her chest wall and some of her organs started to shift into the wrong place. Her colon had moved into her chest pushing her lung to the back, among other things in the wrong place. The repair was a perfect success and she is recovering now. The surgery has left a new large scar on her stomach going from the middle of her body to her side. She will require around 1 week of hospital time and attention which takes my wife Cassandra and I away from work and our home that is hours away from the hospital. We are currently staying in the hospital room with her and our 4 month old daughter. Our son is staying with grandparents hours from us while we are in the hospital.
