I'm setting up this go fund me to help my son and daughter-in-law , Garrett and Jessica Manzella. Their daughter, Gabriella Grace was born June 25th 2018 , taken 3 weeks early due to complications during the pregnancy including her not being adequately nourished by the placenta. Her birth weight was 4#11oz . Gabriella was born with Congenital Heart Disease and will face open heart surgery. Now at 4 months old she weighs 9#5oz and they're trying to get her weight up so shes as strong as possible for surgery. Initially the pediatric Cardiologist from Children's Hospital wanted her to be 12 to 14 lbs by March-the latest they will wait to do surgery but because of some issues it may be moved to this December, which is why I want to move forward now with this campaign. Because of her multiple heart conditions, Gabriella's heart rate is very fast which causes her to burn energy and calories very quickly , because of this its very difficult for her to put weight on as quickly as she needs too.
Gabriella has Atrial Septal Defect (ASD) -a hole in the wall of her heart between the two upper chambers. Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD)-a hole in the wall of her heart separating the two lower chambers.
Pulmonary Stenosis -obstruction of blood flow from the right ventricle to the pulmonary artery and a very rare condition , Bilateral Superior
Vena Cava which alters how her heart is wired and will require her to be on two separate heart lung bypass machines during surgery. Gabriella will be in ICU for 7 days, and in the hospital for 2 weeks with a 6 week home recovery. During this time Garrett and Jessica will be by her side. Although they have medical ins, it will in no way cover everything, the surgery alone is 400,000, as well as the financial strain this will put on them. This will also help the medical expenses that go along with this condition.
