Sarah and Jon found out late in her pregnancy that Gabe was smaller and had a birth defect. He is smaller than his twin Adelina but doing great - so tiny and quiet. Adelina makes a little more noise then Gabe but thankful they are both happy and healthy ( for the most part)
Gabe was born with club feet. He met his pediatrician last week and hoping to do a follow up appointment next week. And in two weeks he gets to meet his doctor at Devos to start the process of fixing his club feet. It was definitely hard for Jon and Sarah to hear Gabe had club feet and especially when Sarah had to go to her appointments alone due to Covid 19. Although they have been told it’s more common these days and just takes a few years for it to be corrected, it was still a shock for them. Jon and Sarah will have to travel to Devos in Grand Rapids every week for at least 8 weeks for casts until the next process. That process depends on how quickly Gabriel responds to the treatments. It can range from having surgery to different braces and boots as he grows and responds to the treatments and can last up to 4+ years.
I have created this account for my niece Sarah because no one is prepared to hear that their baby has a birth defect and that he will need to be treated to correct it over several years to come. Gabe is a twin, as I mentioned earlier, which we all know means double the cost for everything. Sarah is home with the twins on unpaid maternity leave to add to the things. Your donation would be greatly appreciated to help cover the expenses for Gabe's doctor visits, casts, braces, potential surgery, Jon's day off from work and eventually Sarah's along with the expenses of driving to and from Grand Rapids. If you know Jon and Sarah, they are kind, giving, caring and wonderful Christians that would help others in need in a minute. This is hard for them for ask for help in their time of need. So any amount you feel moved to give would truly be appreciated. They would love prayers for Gabe but also for Jon and herself as this will be a new learning experience.
