In Loving Memory of Gabriel Jaime Davila

The heavenly gates opened to welcome a faithful servant and a wonderful man.

Our dad, Gabriel Davila (63) went with the Lord on Saturday August 13th, 2022. Born in Medellin, Colombia on April 4, 1959, he was the youngest of 13 children to the late Luis Alfonso Dávila and Edelmira Bedoya. He leaves behind his beautiful wife Maria (his "Rosita"), their 3 children, Andrea (Nahum), Camila, and Juan (Jocelyn), and their grandchildren. But also, so many people that were impacted by his love and kindness. He left a mark in every person he crossed paths with and brought a light into this world that will never be forgotten.

To the world he was a loving Pastor, to us..he was SO MUCH MORE. He was the soul of our family, our fearless protector, our best friend, and a gentle reminder of what it means to love unconditionally without judgment and to give to others without expecting anything in return. He was not only a Pastor at our family church but a warm-hearted friend and brother who devoted his life to God and spoke with such passion that his words could lift your spirit even in your darkest moments.

He was a loving husband, an amazing father and even a better grandfather. He was a Pastor to many and a friend to all. He was a loving, compassionate and selfless man. He loved God with all his mind, body and soul. His commitment to the work of the Lord was inspiring and his only motivation was love. While his time on this earth was cut short, there was never a day wasted. He woke up EVERY DAY at 5 am to begin praying, not only for the people he knew but for everyone who he crossed paths with. He was always willing to help and inspire others, whether it was working hard with mom, helping Juan with his installations, running errands with Camila or sharing the same passion for ministry with Andrea, he was always there. His unexpected passing leaves sadness, emptiness and uncertainty in us all and our only hope is to one day see him again in heaven where he now rests in the Presence of the Lord.

We ask for prayers for our family as we cope with the loss of this amazing man. We have created this page after many suggestions and everyone’s desire to bless our mom and family through this hard time. All the proceeds will go towards the necessary arrangements and expenses as well as supporting mom. We thank you for all the love and support. God bless!

“My dad was my everything, he was my rock, my strength and my best friend. I cannot wrap my mind around the idea that you will no longer call me a thousand times a day or stop by the office for coffee even though we live together. The day you close your eyes forever my world stopped, nothing feels the same and nothing will ever be the same. You were simply the best! Words fall short when trying to explain what you mean to me… all I can say is “I love you daddy… thank you for making me so happy every day of my life”” ~ Andrea

“Dad, you are the light of my life, my best friend, and my favorite poet. No matter where we were or what time of day it was I could always count on you to make me smile. The way you would laugh at my stupid jokes as no one else would, or simply drive 20 minutes with me to get some coffee. You were my greatest support system anytime I felt unheard. The day you passed is the day you took my heart with you. It hurts to laugh and smile knowing I'll never see you again. I'd give anything to hold you one last time. To see your beautiful brown eyes. To hear your infectious laugh or one of your many poems. To see one of your silly dance moves. To walk me down the aisle and hand me over to the love of my life. To just hear one more I love you, Cami. Dad, I'll miss you forever and I can't wait to see you again.“ ~ Camila

“My Father to the public was a pastor. To me, he played many roles, he was a business owner and my business partner. But most importantly he was my father. Dad, if I can express to you how grateful I am for those early mornings and late nights. Us working so hard together and talking about a better future for your grandsons. I recall you insisting to climb the ladders with me and me refusing to let you. And it's ironic how now you've climbed the highest there is to climb. I hope to climb up there one day and find you at the top. I love you.” ~ Juan
