Hello, My name is Gabevon Lafyette Green Jr. For short though you can call me Gabe. I'm am 16 years old and found a passion in Technology in general. I don't like to drag on my main points but this time I feel that it is necessary that you understand where I came from and where I am at now before you can understand what I truly need.
Growing up lets just say I wasn't such a good kid. I was just a terrible kid in general. I had terrible grades, a terrible attitude, terrible discipline, and overall no morals. This wasn't because I was too young(13) or because I was a "rebel". It was because of the people that were surrounding me. Unfortunately one of those people were my mother, who although made bad decisions, I love regardless. These things I witnessed around me happening alongside my brothers and sisters was atrocious and no kid should have to witness things of such wicked behavior like I once did. It was so bad that soon the state of Florida would have to step in. But one women in my life took a step forward, always being one step ahead of the state. This was my aunt.
My auntie is the smartest women I know. She is also the strongest women I know. Overall the categories though she's the scariest women I know! The statement "you can bring a horse to water but you can't make it drink" doesn't apply in her household what so ever. In her household you will be successful. She is the reason why I'm climbing to closer to success every time I fail. She is the reason why my GPA is above 4.0 and also how I unlocked my path into technology. She is the reason why I am about to graduate early along with my AA degree. All of this happening because she believed in me. Everyone else saw me they though "he'll end up just like his dad" or "he'll end up doing nothing in his life". Because of my aunt, I inch everyday to proving wrong. Along with your help I grow even closer.
I'm not saying this to feel sorry for myself or for you to feel sorry for me. This is my story, which I am proud of, and will continue until god feels it must end. In todays world money can come as a blockade toward one's success. This is one of those times. Fortunately my Academic achievements have not gone unnoticed. I have been Invited to the National Youth Leadership Forum: Engineering. Unfortunately though, it comes with a cost. Literally. I have turned to my aunt so much that the amount times can no longer be counted. She has believed in me so much but can only do so much when it comes to a full household. Superman himself couldn't fill her shoes. Which is why I ask people all over the world to help me. Believe in me. Because as long as I know I have my aunt and many thousands more by my side, its only a moment of time before I can say "proved you wrong!"
