Gabe lost his home, don't let him lose his passion

Donation protected
Our friend, Gabriel Kam (16) fought and fought the Green Wattle Creek Fires in Balmoral Village. He had to exhaust every bit of willpower and strength he had. Together with his parents Justin and Helena, he defended their home of over 20 years. They built their house to be defendable from fire. No matter how hard they tried, they were ultimately at the mercy of the flames and howling, shifting wind. The devastation was soul destroying.  They lost everything. With the clothes on their backs and their family pets in hand, Gabriel, Justin & Helena were forced out of their home. The chasing, licking flames melted their shoes. They had to seek shelter in the Balmoral Fire Shed while the fire tore through their beloved village, ravaging everything in its path.  Despite this traumatic catastrophe, Gabe has remained optimistic, stating that ‘We will rebuild’. This may however come at the cost of his education and life passions. Gabriel, Justin & Helena find themselves unsure of how the future will play out.   Gabe is a well beloved member of the Sydney Children’s Choir, a world renowned Australian choir that requires high levels of commitment and dedication to be part of. He has worked for years to get to where he is and without him, choir wouldn’t be the same. The choir is his second home, and now he is in danger of losing that too, along with both his musical and senior education. With the HSC on the horizon, Gabe is in need now more than ever to set stable foundations for his bright future.   100% of the money raised in this campaign will be directly going to Gabriel and his family, assisting him in his pursuit of music (allowing him to maintain his bonds with his 'second family' at choir) his high school education, as well as helping towards rebuilding their home.    Please help, as even a dollar will help get us closer to our goal. Music, and the people he has connected with through it, mean the world to Gabe and without it, he truly has lost everything.    'Cherish what you have, you don't know when it could turn to dust in your fingers' - Gabriel  Photo cred:  Kate Geraghty, The Sydney Morning Herald https://www.smh.com.au/national/nsw/worse-than-ash-wednesday-balmoral-family-returns-to-total-ruin-20191223-p53mf9.html
