Gabby’s fight against breast cancer
Donation protected
Family and friends…In May 2022, our beautiful 52-year-old sister, Gabby Chavira, received tragic news: she has stage 4 breast cancer that has metastasized to her bones (ribs and vertebrae). This cancer can not be removed through surgery.
HER2-positive breast cancer is a breast cancer that tests positive for a protein called human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2). This protein promotes the growth of cancer cells. HER2-positive breast cancers tend to be more aggressive than other types of breast cancer.
Gabby began chemotherapy in July and has had a total of 7 chemotherapy infusions with 3 different kinds of chemotherapy regimens. Her cancer cells are decreasing however the cancer continues to spread.
The nausea, vomiting, and fatigue has made it impossible for
Gabby to return to work after she began chemotherapy. Her insurance deductible is coming up in the beginning of the year and we are asking for assistance to pay for her deductible. Until her deductible is met, Gabby will have to pay the full price of each chemotherapy session every time she visits the doctor. She has always been employed and has always been a hardworking, dedicated employee.
All the money raised will be used for Gabby’s medical expenses. If you can find it in your heart to help, no matter the size of your donation, we will forever be grateful. Any amount truly counts. Even if you do not have the ability right now to donate, please share Gabby’s story.
