Hi everyone, my name is Camila and I am looking for support for my 22-year-old sister and best friend, Gabby.  Whoever has had the chance to meet Gabby knows how outgoing, active, talented, supportive, caring, and loving she is.
Always the life of the party.

On March 29th, 2020 around 7:00 pm Gabby suffered a Pontine Stroke in our parent's basement, it was a really scary moment to find her unconscious on the ground struggling to breathe on her own.  By 7:30 pm she was rushed by ambulance to the nearest hospital, by 7:45 pm she was admitted to the ICU on life support.  A pons stroke affects the brain stem which controls everything from breathing, swallowing, to moving every part of our body, to it's very serious.

After spending 17 days in a coma, God brought her back to us, we have been praying every single day for her. Gabby has been regaining her speech, her strength, and her ability to walk thanks to JESUS and with the support of an amazing team of therapists and doctors at the Rehab center here in London, Ontario.

Given the situation with COVID, we've been able to communicate with Gabby through an Ipad and window visits for the first 4 months, she has been extremely brave throughout this process, however, it's been the hardest adjustment not to be able to physically hug her and support her.  As the restrictions open up, we are now able to go to the hospital for one hour per week.

End of September,  Gabby will be discharged making it 6 months since she has been home. we are getting ready to welcome her back.  With her ongoing recovery, she will need many private therapy sessions, including physiotherapists, speech therapists, and occupational therapy.  In addition to the therapy, she requires medical equipment to help her get back on her feet. My mom is going to stay home to be with her 24/7 as she regains her full independence.

We ask for your support in prayer during this time. Gabby is a warrior and we know she will overcome this and go back to doing everything she loves. We can't wait to see her running around and joking as she usually does.  We appreciate your support and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness and for being there for Gabby.

All equipment will be donated once Gabby is back to herself.

As a family, we are embracing God's process to experience His promise over Gabby's life.   And we will see the goodness of the Lord IN THE LAND OF THE LIVING! We are waiting on Him and taking courage.

Job 33:25 - Then his body will become as healthy as a child’s, firm, and youthful again.
