'STING' - Short Film

Hello!

We’re Euan Munro & James Crutcher, two actors/writers/filmmakers/show-offs based in Glasgow. Last year we made our first short film Raindog and, thanks to your support, it enjoyed a successful festival run - screening around the world at Oscar & BAFTA-qualifying festivals and winning numerous awards, including Spirit of Independence Film Festival’s Rising Spirit Award.

Since then we’ve been hard at work on a bigger, more ambitious follow-up… 1 year on, we’re delighted to announce that our new short film Sting is nearing completion!

Sting is a 9-min drama following Paddy (Euan Munro) as he accompanies his father (Adam McNamara) on a vigilante sting operation to expose an online predator. Through his eyes, we feel the initial thrill of enacting justice give way to a creeping unease as Paddy interrogates his surroundings and begins to question his father’s motives.

We worked with an incredible cast & crew in December 2024 to bring the story to life, and we’re chuffed to bits with what we’ve been able to create together. As it stands, we’ve reached a picture lock on the film and are currently in the process of sound mixing, colour grading & preparing the film for festival submissions. We’re a hair’s breadth from the finish line, and we could use some support in getting over the edge.

Every donation to this GoFundMe campaign will count directly towards post-production fees (sound mix, colour grade & Digital Cinema Package) as well as film festival submission fees - everyone who donates will also be provided with an early online screener link for the film once completed. We understand we’re firmly amidst a cost of living crisis, so please only donate if you can - even just sharing this page would make a huge difference for us.

We were absolutely blown away by the response to our last crowdfunder for Raindog, it gave us a fighting chance on the festival circuit and took our wee film places we couldn’t have imagined. We’ve got a feeling Sting will go even further.
