Hi my name is Don. This is not what I wanted to do since I never wanted or ask for handouts but fear it's my last stand before doomsday.I made a decision many years ago to be one of the cool kids and started smoking now I am paying the price. I have been diagnosed with stage 3 COPD and in order to function everyday I need supplement oxygen.Now this is where our problem is.I was ,or still am, a journeyman plumber,gasfitter. At least I was until covid hit. I was laid off . I am however working again, as well as my wife, but of course because of my medical issue I cannot work as a plumber and had to settle for something else but working and carrying oxygen all day is hard(mostly embarrasing) but I deal with it cause I have to do my part but does not pay quite as well and because of this we have now fallen onto some hardship. I know we are not alone on this matter. We live on an acerage in a mobile home which is now completely falling apart. The roof leaks bad(need a new roof) causing so much inside damage. I cannot fix anything inside until I get the roof rebuilt.This means I need to construct a sloped roof over the existing tin plus shingle and re-insulate. The longer it takes to do that the more damage it's causing.Now because of my lung condition I cannot really do much of this work nor can I afford the materials. The benefit I am working for a local building center so I can buy materials at a discount but lumber is very high right now.The damage is severe enough that I have had to remove some inside due to mould issues.I need HELP!!Yes I work but cannot afford to pay life's bills and buy materials nor can we afford a loan or mortgage .This place is hard to keep heat in during winter high fuel bills and high power bills.If you can find it in your hearts to help out this old guy it would very much appreciated.Have A Great Day!!If you any questions about this fund please feel free to stop in and see me at the hardware store in Meadow Lake and talk to me.
