Hello! My name is Morgan and I’m 24 years old (now 25). This is very hard for me to make, I’m sorry if I ramble a little bit.
Starting earlier this year, I’ve been having odd neurological symptoms that have been increasing in frequency and duration. It all started with muscle weakness in all my limbs, then muscle spasticity in my right thigh, and now it is affecting my right arm. I’m having lots of nerve and muscle pain, eye problems, and more. It’s becoming really hard for me to function every day and work. I can’t really drive anymore. I’m a licensed veterinary technician in the state of Georgia and Alabama; it’s my absolute passion. I’m trying everything I can to get back to normal.
On the 3rd, I went to the ER and was hospitalized in the hospital’s neurology unit until the 6th. During this time, I spent 3+ hours doing MRIs, multiple different tests and treatments, and saw multiple different specialists. In total, I’ve seen an internal medicine doctor, 2 neurologists, and a neurosurgeon. Nobody really knows what exactly is going on and suspects I have something genetically wrong with my muscles, or the way my body processes or uses things like Vitamin B12. Either way, I was told that I’m too “medically complex” for anything local and I require treatment at a university hospital with specialized doctors.
I was able to get a walker through insurance, but I still need help with a wheelchair and cane. I’m also required to complete some physical therapy on the meantime. I have a ton of medical bills piling up. I’m missing so much work and I think my license may be revoked until I’m medically cleared. The next step is going to a specialist in a big city and I’m expecting to have to pay for transportation and hotels. I will probably be updating this as needed. I appreciate anything, even if it’s just a share. Thank you so much for even reading this far
