I am fundraising for my sister Nicole Pyper-Mytrunec.

She has spent her whole life in Vermilion, AB. She lived here as a child with her family and then built a home with her husband Jason, raising their three kids (one still at home) and recently becoming a grandma to two beautiful little ones. She’s someone who shows up for her community, working at Eagles nest, Lakeland college, and the curling club for many years.

Now, she’s the one who needs us.  In February 2025, at just 49 years old, Nicole was suddenly flown to Red Deer with serious medical concerns. Since then, she’s undergone countless tests and biopsies, many out of town. The diagnosis: stage 4 cancer, already spread, with no known origin. It’s devastating. Her treatment will be aggressive chemotherapy under the care of specialists in Red Deer. Travelling to Lloydminster and Red Deer often for the treatments.

Nicole is in constant pain, but she is still showing up with strength and courage every single day. Her fight now is for time — time to seek treatment, time with her husband, her children, her grandbabies. Time to live.

We’re raising funds to ease the heavy load — travel costs, medical expenses, and helping Nicole and Jason stay focused on what matters most: being together.

Nicole has been brave and strong throughout this whole process and we believe with the treatments and alternative therapies she can become cancer free once again.
