In the photo above is a picture of Nicole Rhoads and her husband Chris and their three beautiful children.  My daughter is best friends with Nicole.  They are like sisters and light up each other's life with joy and non stop laughter!

On this past Monday Nicole went into the Chiropractor to get her neck adjusted. After the adjustment she started to feel dizzy, vomited, and had blurred vision. She had a stroke immediately flowing the adjustment.  She was sent by ambulance to Grundy hospital and was responsive at the time.  She  was then airlifted to the University Of Iowa Hospital , where she had a neuron change and became unresponsive.  The family found out she had a major dissection of the artery in the back of her neck. She was placed in a medical induced coma and a breathing tube was inserted. The doctors informed her husband Chris and mother Rhonda the next 3-5 days are critical.  

Tues morning when her team was working on her she woke up, and they were able to remove the breathing tube.  Tuesday evening her husband and mother were allowed to finally see her. Nicole was able to verbalize and point pain. Her head, neck, and back hurt excruciating. It hurts her to talk and to hear others talk. She is unable to feel on one side. She has limited double blurred vision. The nurse asked her if she could see who was standing next to her, but she could not. She could hear her mom but not see her. They were only allowed to visit a short amount of time.

Wendsday morning things took a turn for the worse, as Nicole had way to much swelling in her brain, and had to be rushed in for emergency surgery to help reduce swelling. She has since been put back in a medical induced coma, and breathing tube reinserted.

Her mom posted on Facebook Wednesday morning this:

Please keep praying. The outpouring of support is greatly appreciated. Nicole is sedated and does have a breathing tube in. She was rushed to the operating room this morning for emergency surgery. We will continue to hold vigil in the waiting room until we can be by her side. This has been a trying time for her family and we are doing our best to stay strong. Please do share our heartfelt thanks for all of the support and prayers. Our hearts are breaking. We are scared. Nicole is loved and cherished by many and for the love we thank you. In HIS name we pray.



Nicole is married to Chris Rhoads and together they have 3 very small children ranging from infant to 7 years old. Not everyone knows Nicole Christina Rhoads, but she has an infectious personality. Her smile speaks volumes and her laugh familiar in any room.  
Her smile is bright and beautiful, and I'm sure her three children are missing her dearly. Financially, there will be numerous trips to Iowa City,  medical bills, care for the children, etc....

Her family and friends are in total despair right now , and alls we can do is wait, and hope gods hands will heal her, and she will recover. Waiting for a glimmer of hope is the hardest part for all that love her dearly!
