About me:
Hi, I'm Alex a non-binary content creator looking to make a difference in the world. Like many non-binary people across the world, I don't have access to publicly funded gender confirmation surgery. TW: I struggle with chest dysphoria and as a larger asthmatic person there have not been many effective ways of binding my chest without causing further health issues.
Research:
In order for me to live my best life and be comfortable in my body, it requires several stages of consultants. Due to not being eligible for the NHS system, I have to go privately.
- GIC (Gender Identity Clinic) consultation costs would be about £800 for a psychological assessment and a follow-up appointment.
- Surgery costs upwards of £7,000 (including Hospital fee, a 1-night stay, Surgeon and Anaesthetist fees)
- Follow up consultation two weeks after surgery costing £150
