For My Birthday This Year, I Want to Give Back to Jamaica

Thank you all for visiting. My name is Heather Taylor and I live in Cape Coral FL and my husband and I think of Jamaica as our second home as we got married there on 11-11-11.

For my (Heather) birthday this year, I’m not asking for gifts, flowers, or celebrations — I’m asking for something much more meaningful. I’m asking for help for the families of Our Favorite vacation home in Jamaica who have been impacted by Hurricane Melissa.

For 15 years of going to the resort we have got to know so many employees and families that have been impacted by this hurricane.

Jamaica has given us some of the happiest, most soulful moments of my life. The people there have welcomed us like family — always smiling, singing, dancing, and spreading love, even when they have little to give. It’s a place that feels like home to our heart. Especially since Jason and I got married 11-11-11 and said I do at 11:11am under the Jamaican skies

Now, that same island — those same beautiful people — are hurting. Many have lost homes, belongings, and even hope after this storm. I want to use my birthday as a way to give back to the community that has given me so much joy, kindness, and connection.

Every dollar donated will go directly to families of the resort — to help rebuild roofs, replace essentials, and bring relief to those most affected. No middlemen. No organizations taking a cut. Just real people helping real people.

The money is coming to me Heather Taylor for my birthday, and I will be distributing to dozens of people in need in Jamaica that we have met over the last 16 years from Hedonism resorts, as well as donation to food companies such as Operation BBQ relief, friends in Jamaica that have lost their roofs and their homes, and some will go to Hedocares.org. I have already donated a few thousand to these people and I would like to give to the Hedonism employees that the resort is running to give out to all the employees to assist with rebuilding their homes.

Jason and I will be personally helping them out by heading to Jamaica as soon as flights open up this week.

This money no matter the amount can assist with immediate needs. If we have to bring supplies to the. It will go towards cost of supplies, food, etc . Otherwise we will donate to the resort directly to help the Hedo foundation
