Help Madison Johnson, A 15-Year-Old Girl Struck by a Car During Beech Lake Fireworks. 

On the night of July 4th, during what should’ve been a fun fireworks celebration at Beech Lake, 15-year-old Madison Johnson was run over head-on while walking with friends. She suffered severe injuries and is currently being treated in the trauma unit at LeBonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis, TN

Madison has:

Fractures in her left leg and foot

Liver and pancreas damage

4 broken ribs

Broken collar bone

Bruised lungs

Severe road rash on over 30% of her body

Concerns of internal bleeding from her ear

Chipped teeth and extensive bruising

She is in pain, but she’s talking, fighting, and even telling doctors she wants to go home to her own bed. She is truly a strong young woman — but the road ahead will be long, painful, and full of medical follow-up and therapy.

How You Can Help

Madison’s mom is staying by her side — day and night. She will be out of work for several weeks (or longer), with no income during that time. This GoFundMe will help cover:

Lost wages while she’s unable to work

Travel and food expenses while staying at the hospital ( Hospital is almost 2 hours away & she has other small children at home as well,)

Ongoing medical and rehab costs

Basic needs for Madison and her mother while they focus on healing

This fundraiser is organized by Christie Haley, a close family friend of Madison and her Mom. My transfer plan to get the funds to them will be to transfer it out to my account then take the cash to them personally. The money will be used to help Madison and Laura while Madison is a patient at Le Bohner Children’s Hospital for any of their personal needs. It will also be used for Laura to drive back and forth, the almost 2 hour drive between the hospital and her home where she has a 3 and 9 year old. After they’re discharged, the money will be used to help Laura pay bills while she’s out of work taking care of Madison during her recovery time as she will be full bound to a wheelchair. It will also be used for gas purposes to go back and forth to the Dr.
