Sadly, right after the Thanksgiving holiday 2007, my godson, Devon Owens, lost his mother, Stacey Owens. Stacey was a gregarious, fun-loving and loyal friend, wife, mother, daughter and sister. In addition to Devon, Stacey left a beautiful daughter, Broolynn, here in the earth after this tragic incident as well. As all mothers do, Stacey had BIG dreams for both of her children which primarily included success in education. She would be extremely proud of both Devon's and Brooklynn's success in school as well as outside of the school environment. Janice Williams is doing a phenomenal job of raising her precious grandchildren and for that, we can all be grateful.
I'm excited to announce that in August, Devon will leave for Clark-Atlanta to begin his freshman year in college. I am championing this cause because we all know how very expensive a college education can be--especially when you go out-of-state. Those of us who love Stacey have a desire to see Devon succeed in his future endeavors. I, myself, am thankful to be a part of the "village" that has continually supported, nurtured and loved on this family. Please join me as we help Stacey's dreams come true by assisting her "little man" fulfill his dreams.
