Hello Friends, Family & Donors, I am creating this Go Fund Me Account to seek help for my kids to be able to cover the remaining funeral expenses for their Father, Albert Gonzalez.

My Husband Rich and I are not able to financially assist them and not all of Albert’s pre-planning arrangements covered all of his actual expenses and some of his prepaid services are not transferrable or refundable.

Albert moved to California in May of this year hoping to have a number of years to “reconnect with ” two of his five children and his young grandchildren that he could only have a long-distance relationship with via phone calls and video calls; living with my Daughter and her family was intended to allow for many new memories together before they would lose him.

As my Daughter was establishing local medical care here in California through the Veterans Administration he became sick and was diagnosed with Metastatic Stage 4 Cancer; his health declined so rapidly that he was not able to tolerate the testing to find out the original source of his Cancer before he passed away on August 1st.

It was less than 3 weeks from his diagnosis to when he passed away.

We have determined what Benefits he was entitled to with the V.A. and will be utilizing the burial benefits to give him a Military Honors Burial at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Bakersfield, CA. However, there are no Benefits that help pay for the disposition of the body.

I have two adult children that will need to travel from out of state for his service and burial; the longer it takes to get flights the more expensive it will be; if you are able to donate anything at all my children would be more than grateful. Thank you and God Bless, Barb B.
