Help Gary

Hi, my name is Cindy Smith. I am setting this Gofundme account up so that I can get help for my brother, Gary Slaughter. Gary was admitted into the hospital on February 17th for Covid and he was discharged on February 22nd. He came home on oxygen and other medications and only got worse. Early this morning rescue was called for him again as he was clearly in distress and asking for help. On the way to the hospital Gary had a heart attack. Rescue personnel worked to shock and stabilize him after he coded at Carteret Healthcare in Morehead City. Then he was flown to Coastal Carolina Healthcare in New Bern where they did a heart catherization. He had a 100% blocked artery and stents were placed.

Gary is the bread winner for his family ever since our Dad has been in Hospice Care. Gary has had to take on more and more, both at home and at work. Many of you know that Gary has been brought up in the family construction business. As our Dad’s health has worsened, Gary has stepped up to the plate. Although stressful, he has done a good job.  He is my Irish twin as there are only 11 1/2 months between us. He was always pulling me out of the water when he thought I went out too deep. This is me trying to keep him out of deep water while he recovers.  His family needs him to be okay.
