Hello,
My name is Heather and I am 22 years old. First off, I want to thank you for taking the time to read this. This is not something I ever thought I would do because I personally think most GoFundMe's are scams and a waste of time, but this however, is not. This is the real deal. Most of you will already know everything I'm about to say, but I'm going to provide some background information for those who do not so everyone understands why this is so important to me and my family.

My parents, Christopher and Amy Cross, are wonderful people. Anybody who knows them can attest to that. They are awesome parents and they have given me a great life. They rasied my brother Jacob and I to be hard-working, responsible, loving, and caring individuals. Basically everything good that I am is a direct reflection of them and how they raised me to be, and I pride myself in that.

Throughout my entire life, my parents have worked extremely hard to provide for us. They were young parents and had their fair share of struggles over the years, but no matter what, my brother and I never went without and we were always taken care of, even if that meant dad had to work 20 hours of overtime or mom had to pick up a second job. Both of them are really hard workers- dad is a Maintenence Supervisor and mom was a Patient Care Tech at Memorial for 15 years until her Multiple Sclerosis and deterioating health prevented her from working anymore. My mom was crushed when it happend and still struggles with being unable to care for her patients and help provide for the family (although she still does provide for her family in many other great ways-she just doesn't realize it). Anyways, this makes my dad the main financial provider for the family and that was fine, up until he got sick in July.

Some background information on my dad- my dad is the type of guy that only goes to the doctor once every couple of years and ONLY if he aboslutely has to. So on July 17th when my mom recieved a phone call from him that he was in the ER for chest pain, we knew there was something seriously wrong.

That day my dad was a couple hours away from home with some co-workers for a work meeting. He was in the meeting when he bagan to feel sweaty, clammy, nauseous, and his heart started to race. This continued until it escalated at lunch into extreme tightness in the chest and vomiting. That's when he decided it was time to go. The first hospital visit, he was at Beaumont in Royal Oak for the weekend. All tests came back negative and after they got his blood pressure down he was sent home. He returned to work later that week only to come back home halfway through the day everyday because he was having the same symptoms. After that week, he has been unable to work due to his declining health.

Ever since July 17th, he has been in four hospitals; Beaumont, Memorial, Sparrow, and U of M. My mom has had to call the ambulance at least 4 times in the last month because of how severe these "episodes" are getting, each one worse than the last and new symptoms continually presenting themselves. Most of his tests are coming back completely normal and there seems to be nothing any of these hospitals can do which is very frustrating- he's so sick he can hardly get out of bed most days and yet the tests are showing nothing? How the hell does that happen?! Luckily, one doctor thinks he knows what is wrong and its hard to diagnose so he's sending him to the Mayo Clinic where he can get the diagnosis and treatment he needs. He thinks my dad has pheocromocytoma- a very rare tumor of the adrenal glands that negatively affects the body and must be located and removed. My dad has every symptom and is suffering from it every single day :(

Since this has been going on for well over a month now, the ambulance and medical bills are starting to roll in. My dad has used up all of his vacation days at work and short-term disability is unavailable through his work. He is selling his motorcyle because they need money for bills and anyone who knows him knows how much he loves his Harley.. my heart is breaking for my parents right now. I want to do everything I can to help them and that's why I'm asking you for help. My dad doesn't know I'm doing this and will probably flip when he finds out because he is the type of man that will give you the shirt off his back, and I know he would rather go shirtless than to ever ask anyone for theirs... but he deserves to have a little weight lifted off of his shoulders. Please consider donating, every little bit helps and I can assure you that every little bit will be used as I said it would. My parents are great people and they truly deserve the help.

Thank you all for your time, love, and support and please keep praying for my dad.

Sincerely,

Heather Coleman
