Josh's Medical Fund

Josh Heidkamp is a fighter. He's also a husband, dad, brother and son. He is fiercely loved by his wife, Kim, and their two kids -- Edmund, 3 1/2, and Alma, 2.
This month, neurosurgeons removed a baseball-sized tumor from Josh's head and determined that he has aggressive brain cancer -- a devastating diagnosis, to say the least. But this is Josh we are talking about. He intends to fight -- for his family and for his life.
Josh is 32. He's a dreamer, an encourager and an always-curious creative. He loves to cook complicated, delicious feasts and bike all over the Twin Cities. By day he works at Treefort, Inc., a small Minnesota-based web design firm, where he has been since 2007. He's also a talented musician who has served as a church worship leader and small group leader.
This past summer Josh started getting intense headaches with double vision and memory problems too. On November 17, he went to see a neurologist who immediately ordered an MRI and sent him into emergency surgery to remove the tumor, a grade 4 glioblastoma. He will be starting chemotherapy and radiation in mid-December.
Many generous people have asked how they can help our family through this tough time. This fund is one way you can help. Sadly, the reality of today's health care system means that the treatments Josh needs will be expensive. By the end of this year (2016) we will be hitting our out-of-pocket maximum, and it's clear we will hit it early next year as well.
Regardless, Josh is determined to fight this beast. Josh and Kim are also determined make every day with their family and friends count! Join us?
We are so, so thankful for your partnership, love and friendship.
With gratitude,
Josh, Kim, Edmund and Alma
