Help Kelly Kick Cancer

As many of you know, our dear friend Kelly Lane was diagnosed with Stage 2 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (Breast Cancer) on October 1st, 2021 (ironically, the first day of Breast Cancer Awareness month). Since then, she has undergone 5 of her 6 aggressive chemo treatments. She has 1 full treatment left, scheduled for February 3rd, before undergoing a double mastectomy on March 8th. Post mastectomy, Kelly will have Herceptin injections every 3 weeks for a year and will also undergo 4-6 weeks of radiation therapy 5 days per week. Once she is fully recovered from her mastectomy and finished with radiation, Kelly will have several reconstructive surgeries.

Since her diagnosis, Kelly has been an absolute warrior. Her positive attitude and indomitable spirit are nothing short of inspirational. Shortly after being diagnosed, Kelly decided to take matters into her own hands and shave her head, even having her 4-year-old son help in the endeavor. She has continued to work as much as she can to provide for her family and be with her students (whom she loves dearly). While currently employed as a PreK teacher at Community Nursery School in West Boylston, Kelly has also worked as a Special Education teacher at the Lighthouse School in Chelmsford, and in the Frisco Public School District when she lived in Texas.

Currently residing in Holden, Kelly is a mother to three amazing children - Avery (8), Evynne (6), and Lawson (4) - and one furkid- Lucy (dog) - and is married to the most wonderful and supportive husband, Phil.

Those of us who know Kelly best know that she isn't one to ask for help, hence why I am doing this on her behalf. Cancer is expensive and no one should go broke having to fight for their life. At this time, Kelly has been advised by her team of doctors to refrain from working. These next two months will be very intense and in order to keep her treatments on track, it is very important for Kelly to stay healthy and away from germs. Any donations given would help ease the financial burden and worry on the family and allow Kelly to rest and fully recover before returning to work.

To know Kelly is to love her, and right now we need to shower her with all the love and prayers we can give. I know the #TeamKelly fans stretch far and wide, from Massachusetts to Maine, to North Carolina and South Carolina, to Florida, Texas, and California and all the states in between. Let's give back to Kelly all the love she has given to us. Show her she has an army and support squad behind her! Without a doubt, Kelly and her family have quite the long and arduous journey ahead of them, but I know with the support from their family, friends, and community, we can help Kelly kick cancer!
