As many of our family and friends know, my dad, Tom, has had to deal with many medical issues, especially over the last 6 years. After beating stage 4 Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, Tom has suffered 5 strokes and several TIAs due to the radiation received while fighting cancer. One of his biggest setbacks was paralysis of the left side of his body after his first stroke. Most recently, he has been diagnosed with severe Ventriculomegaly. Ventriculomegaly is a condition in which the brain ventricles, or fluid-filled cavities, are enlarged due to the buildup of cerebrospinal fluid. While this is not a curable condition at this stage, he will be undergoing a trial-based brain surgery July 22nd and a second on July 25th to hopefully help make him more comfortable and have a better-quality life.
Kathy, Tom's wife, is his main caretaker who needs our help! As his medical state worsens, he is much harder to move around and depends solely on Kathy to lift him. Kathy is hoping to buy a transfer lift chair to help her lift him from one room to the next with much more ease.
We are looking for donations so we can make their life a little bit easier.
Thank you in advance for the help and continued prayers for Tom.
