Three years ago, this homeowner experienced significant storm damage to their home. Like many people do, they trusted a contractor to help restore what was lost and guide them through the repair process. Unfortunately, that contractor abandoned the project, leaving the home exposed to the elements, which caused an additional $90k in mold contamination. The contractor left the project contaminated & unfinished and the homeowner was left without answers, progress, or support.

What followed was a long and exhausting three-year ordeal for the homeowner, not only in dealing with the mold remediation and house repairs, but also with the devastating news of a cancer diagnosis and the chemotherapy and radiation treatments that followed. This compounded the financial and emotional toll of the damaged house, and the feeling of not having a safe or comfortable home to live in.

During this time, additional storm-related damage occurred, but requests for further insurance coverage were denied. With limited options and mounting pressure, the homeowner was forced to cover critical repairs out of pocket, accumulating tens of thousands of dollars in unexpected expenses just to keep the home safe and livable.

No one should have to navigate contractor abandonment, insurance denials, and major home repairs alone. This situation has taken an extreme financial and emotional toll. Despite doing everything they could, the burden has continued to grow.

We are raising funds to help relieve the financial strain caused by this experience and to assist with remaining repair costs. Every contribution will go directly toward helping this homeowner recover from losses that were completely out of their control.
