David’s Glioblastoma Journey

Hi, my name is Morgan and I started this fundraiser for our good friend David Hine.

On November 27, 2023, David had an incident at work causing him to be brought to the nearest hospital in Pierre, SD. While there, David and his family were told that a mass was found in the left frontotemporal portion of his brain. He was transported by air as soon as possible to Sioux Falls, SD where he underwent surgery on December 5, 2023 to remove the mass. After testing on the mass was done, it was found that it was a type of cancer called a glioblastoma. This is a grade 4 glioma. Glioblastomas are fast growing and not curable. In order to hopefully reduce or slow the growth of this tumor, David has started radiation and chemotherapy. During this process, which he started January 8, 2024, David will receive treatment everyday, five days a week, for 6 weeks. While having treatment he will be staying in Sioux Falls at the Sanford cancer apartments on weekdays and visiting his family on the weekends. This is only the start of a long treatment journey. Any funds raised here will help David and his family pay for medical expenses, lodging, and travel.
