This is David McElwain. David has spent the past 30 years giving back to his community, helping people get jobs both for his career and as a personal endeavor, giving books to children especially through establishing little libraries in the local community’ and helping people turn their lives around, to become more self sufficient and independent. He has also helped businesses through his work with the local chamber of commerce. David has served over his entire life. He has been an incredible friend, community member, giving to all manner of causes and now, for the first time, he needs to ask for help.
David was diagnosed with Stage IV Gastric Cancer in April 2019 and is now in the fight for his life, against incredible odds. He has an entire family who is dependent on him, and our worlds have been turned upside down. We are hoping and praying for his success in fighting this disease, especially so that his young grand baby of only 1 year will be able to know his incredible spirit, generosity and loving nature. As with any significant medical condition, it is not only the condition itself that causes suffering, there are additional expenses not covered by medical insurance, and costs associated with David’s care and needs, all creating a financial burden for our family.
