Hi. I really hate asking for help but I need assistance. My mom, Melody, and I live together. I'm 47 years old and disabled. I'm on SSI disability so only make about $900 a month. I have gastroparesis, menieres disease, diabetes, fibromyalgia, and multiple back problems. My mom is 72. Up until the beginning of this month she has worked full time in the Walmart deli. 3 weeks ago she got sick. She's been in the hospital since August 3rd when I took her to the ER with severe stomach pains. They said she had an abscess just above her rectum, inflammation in her bowels, and diverticulitis. They admitted her. She was on IV antibiotics which didn't work well enough then a drain was placed in the abscess. It helped but not enough. This past Friday (Aug 18) they finally decided she needed surgery. They took her in at 1pm. Mom's surgery lasted 7 hrs. 2 hrs laparoscopic then 5 hrs open. She's still critical but hopefully she'll pull through. She was on a ventilator but she's off it now. She had 5 abscesses, she has a colostomy, they removed her appendix, she might have to have dialysis if her kidney function doesn't improve. And there's something going on with her pancreas. Her abscesses we're in masses like concrete that the DR had to break up and remove with his hands. They removed part of her sigmoid, part of her bowel. The DR threw so much info at me I had trouble keeping up. She'll be in ICU at least another week assuming all goes well but the next few days are critical. She's off the ventilator though.She will be in the hospital at least another month. Then nursing home for who knows how long. She definitely won't be able to return to work therefore we cannot afford our apartment. I did find another apartment for us but She won't be returning to our existing apartment. Remember, mom is my main caregiver since I'm disabled. So this is very difficult for me. Financially, emotionally, physically. Any positive vibes and prayers are appreciated. I will try to keep you updated in between hospital visits and packing. But the point of this is that I really need help. I have to get a moving truck, pay security deposit, first months rent, car payment, utilities, pay people to help me move, food, etc. If anyone can please help it would be greatly appreciated.
