I never imaginged our lives to be the way they are today. I'm still numb from the events that have taken place this last week. I look around at all the equitment in the hospital room and my husband laying in his hospital bed, hoping and praying that we will wake up from this horrible nightmare.
On August 19th Nick's clothes caught fire after gas spilled all over him while working on a generator. Hours after the gas spill Nick and a friend decided to dispose of the old gas by burning it. As a result of having fumes still radiating from his jeans when the gasoline was lit it ignited and caught his jeans on fire. In an attempt to remove his jeans Nick obtained some burns to his hands, face and of course his legs. After I immediately rushed him to the hospital he was then transported up to the U of Utah and admitted into their burn ICU unit. Nick sustained deep third degree burns to his legs and has already undergone one surgery. He will get another surgery next week with the possiblilty that a third surgery may be required. His medical bills continue to rise everyday, and any help is appreciated.
Nicks recovery is going to be a long a hard road. But I just keep telling myself it will be okay, I still have my husband alive with me. And that is truly the only thing that matters.
I want thank anyone who is able to donate. It may not be possible to come up with 3,000 but any smal amount will make a difference.
And I would also like to thank those who just take the time to read his story.
Thank you
