Hi everyone, my name is Teri and 2 weeks ago our family's life was suddenly and drastically changed. Our brother Chris became very ill and was hospitalized. Then last week on his 57th Birthday he was diagnosed with Acute Myelomonocytic Leukemia. This is a very rare form of Leukemia and it is extremely aggressive.

Chris was born in the US and lived and worked here for 42 yrs, but for the last 15 years he has considered a small island in the Philippines to be his home with his wife and three kids. While he loves living there, the care he is receiving is drastically different than what he would receive here in the US. We are asking for help to cover his already extensive medical costs for the treatment he has received there, including several blood transfusions, platelets, and bone marrow biopsies. His amazing wife Mimi has had to search all over town for blood and platelet donors for Chris, and then pick up and take the blood and platelets to the

hospital herself for his transfusions, as the hospitals there do not have any available.

Due to the difficulty in getting the extensive treatments that he needs there, Chris's best chance at survival is coming back to the states for treatment as soon as possible. Also, until we can get him here, he needs bi weekly blood transfusions which costs at least $500 per transfusion, and on top of that the hospital is holding his passport as collateral until all treatment costs there have been paid. Which means in order to even get him here, we need to get those bills paid as soon as we can and they're adding up very quickly and it's more than we can do on our own. Also there is the airfare to get him here which could be about $900. In addition there will be so many expenses, such as chemo treatment, lab work, medications and an in-home caregiver once he gets here. My sisters and I are asking for some help so that we can bring our brother safely home to get

the urgent treatment that he needs to fight this cancer and get healthy so he can then be reunited with his wife and kids.
