Hello everyone! This is our Dad, Jeremy Bynum. He’s the father to three earthly kiddos and two heavenly. He goes by PopPop to two earthly grandbabies and one heavenly. He’s a big ole goofball who loves Jesus, the Vols, the Braves, trout fishing, and (when forced by his wife or daughters) furniture refinishing. His laugh is about as jolly as Santa’s. He loves going to the golf course and swinging clubs with his son, his two son-in-laws, his brother, and nephew. And he loves smoking some brisket in the backyard.
Three years ago our Dad was diagnosed with Stage 3 Malignant Neoplasm of hepatic flexure, Colon Cancer. He had his first surgery for a partial bowel resection and biopsy in January 2024. A year and a half later, we found out the cancer had spread through his lymphatic system and formed a mass on the head of his pancreas. His last diagnosis was Malignant neoplasm of ascending colon, they performed exploratory open laparotomy on March 5th. All thanks to Jesus, the surgery was successful and less invasive than the doctors had originally thought. From that biopsy, we were told the cancer had progressed to Stage 4 Metastatic Colonic Adenocarcinoma with extranodal extension, which is an aggressive feature associated with higher recurrence and further metastasis. As you can imagine, this time is very emotionally and physically draining.
Our next steps will be chemotherapy and tackling this disease through holistic treatments which will include monitoring of lab levels and various at home remedies and routines.
If you know the Bynum’s then you know that asking for help is a very hard pill for us to swallow, but we are asking for it today because the financial support will get him in cryotherapy treatments, ozone replacement therapy, oxygen therapy, access to the medicinal remedies that help heal the body after his sessions, and general support for his wife and son who is at home. Anything helps! Continually praying for his divine healing or sharing this message with the next person are more appreciated than you can imagine.
Jeremy said himself that he knows the Lord is not done writing his story and we are holding onto the promises that are written in the Word. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for your consideration in helping our family.
