My name is Fiona, but my friend Dane has always called me Fifi.

Dane is an Aboriginal, queer man from Darwin who recently attempted to take his life while living in Toronto, Canada

I’ve been friends with Dane for over 18 years. He is a beautiful man who has withstood decades of trauma and abuse.

Dane's friends do not want to lose him and are reaching out to raise funds to get him back to Australia and into a facility that will help him get on a better path. We have set the target at $10,000 to help pay for his flight home, return of his belongings and any costs that may occur from the facility stay, including health insurance.

We know that Daney has felt alone in this world, but one small silver lining from this incident, is that Dane now knows how many people in this world love and care about him. He wants to change his life for the better and is willing and motivated to give rehab and recovery a sincere go.

Any money that you can contribute will go straight to ensuring Dane's health and safety.

We have been in contact with facilities who can help fast track his admittance and are fully dedicated to getting Dane on the road to his recovery.

Accountability

We will offer anyone who donates photos of receipts for purchases and have a small group of key friends who will keep track of these spends and ensure accountability.

I have cleared one of my bank accounts so all funds received through Go Fund Me for Dane can be easily tracked. I can share bank statements for further accountability.

Depending on the support we get, and Daney's needs as we get more clarity, we may adjust the target for funding.
