On the early morning of January 1st 2021 our family was thrust into a roller coaster of emotions. Our father was being airlifted to Tucson Medical Center to receive intensive care service while Mom remained in a Yuma hospital. Both were being tended to for covid. We entered the storm.
Our parents journeyed from Guadalajara, Mexico to the United States in the early 1970s, seeking the American Dream and a better life for themselves and their growing family. Without the guarantee of jobs, finances, or the English language, they ventured on. It would be here that they would not only bless their family with a home but their Faith as well.

My parents' lives of hardship was what motived them to elope having only known each each for three days. They would venture on in pursuit of a better life in America. It was after arriving in America that our uncle (my father's brother-in-law) introduced them to Jesus. My stubborn father always had reservations. My mother found love at first sight with the Lord. On the day of her baptism (a day he was oppose to) something came over my father and he felt compelled to not only encourage my mother, but to give his own life to Jesus as well. Both were baptized the same day.

2020All eight of their children would be raised to know Jesus. All of us raised in the same church. All of us raised singing in the church choir. All of us raised falling asleep underneath the church pews. This church would be our forever family.

My mother was always the appropriate portrait of a lady. She was prudent, generous, and kind. She loved her children as if they were the very oxygen in her lungs. She never drove a vehicle or spoke English, but still managed to keep up a home and hold side jobs to bring home additional income. Yes, mama was a hustler.

My father was always the life of the party and stubborn as a bull. He always wore a happy grin with a mustache and cowboy hat (tejana). At family gatherings he was the first and last on the dance floor. As wild and free as he was, he was also warm and generous. He hosted several family members in our home to help them make the leap for the better life that he had made so many years before. His siblings looked up to him and his children admired him. Without the English language he beat the odds and learned to read blueprints and to go on to build his own construction company. We never did without because of his strong work ethic and family first mentality.


In 2017 and 2018 my parents became US Citizens. Oh what a proud day this was for us. My sons and nieces witnessed these moments with pride and admiration. You did it Mom and Dad, you accomplished the American Dream!

On November 2020 my parents casted their first vote in the Presidential elections. What a privilege for them. They took this right seriously and honorably.

So many firsts together these two love birds had. Next they would have celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary.
On January 21, 2021 my mother, Maria del Rosario Miranda, went home to be with the Lord. After tackling Covid with other underlying health conditions and fighting a good fight.
Soon after on January 23, 2021 my father, Ruben Miranda, followed suit joining my mother in the arms of the Lord for eternity.
Both left a mother land in pursuit of something better together. Both found Jesus and gave their life to Him together. Both became US Citizens and casted their first vote together. Both created a life with a family together. Both went to be with Jesus together.
Not even death could keep them apart. Together forever in eternity in the arms of Love.

So many of you friends have poured out to ask how you can help. We would have never anticipated or imagined carrying out both our parents' service at the same time. There are various unforeseen costs and fees that we continue to encounter along the way. Your contributions will bless us as we continue to heal.
Our greatest blessing is for you to know their story and pray for us. Having done this, you have done more than enough friend and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
