One in a million diagnosis EHE cancer

Donation protected
Have you heard of EHE cancer?! It’s ok most doctors actually haven’t either!

EHE is a ultra rare cancer that affects less than 1 in a million. There is currently no cure for EHE and treatment is different for each patient due to it’s rarity. After a month of an uncertain diagnosis and waiting, Aimee was diagnosed on 7/7/22 with EHE (Epithelioid Hemangioendothelioma) cancer.

Needless to say this was after many tests, procedures and scans. This all lead up to surgery to remove the tumor which was wedged between 2 thigh muscles. 1/4 of each of these 2 muscles were removed. The tumor was within the wall of the blood vessel between these muscles. This surgery included a painful pre-surgery, scans and tests that day, a stay in the hospital, and now recovering with in-home PT and a long road ahead. This will include treatments with consulting Drs in Cleveland and New York. As this is such a rare diagnosis, these specific Drs are the ones who have the best experience treating EHE. Treatment will also include multiple scans/labs every 3 months. With a breast cancer scare in November-December, we are also sending in those results to these Drs to get their opinion on those pathology results as many EHE patients have been misdiagnosed in the past, specifically in the breast. This could mean removal of that area in the breast as well. Either way, it will require more testing and scans in that breat area as well.

Many people have asked how they can help, and as you can imagine, the medical bills are coming in steady, with no slow down in the near future. With likely trips to New York and Cleveland. Anything raised will go directly to medical bills, and anything above and beyond will go to the EHE foundation to help with much needed research by these amazing Drs. You can learn more about EHE on the foundation website where two of the Drs helping with treatment are on the board. We appreciate all the love, support and prayers already sent to us! Keep them coming with positive vibes.
