Get Nic Back On Her Feet!

In August this year our best friend was given the amazing opportunity to travel to the USA to join the Benedictine Bulldogs soccer team based in Illinois. Having played alongside Nicholle for two years I was ecstatic when I heard the news - her spot on the team was well earned and deserved, demonstrated by the impact she has made during some noteworthy wins and clean sheets throughout her first three months overseas.

Last Sunday we received devastating news that Nic had badly injured herself in her latest game. Competing for the ball against the opposition’s goalkeeper, she ended up tangled in the girl’s legs. As they fell the entire weight of the keeper went down on Nicholle’s leg, causing breaks in her tibia and fibula, as well as a posterior and anterior dislocation of her ankle - a horrific injury that requires surgery, complete with metal plates and pins, months of rehabilitation and thousands of dollars worth of medical expenses. To make matters worse Nic has no family or friends from home with her, her mother currently trying to get money together to ensure she can fly out and be with her daughter before she goes into surgery.
