My name is Kevin Galley, and I rarely seek financial assistance. My closest friend, Jeromy, with whom I shared every moment of my Gen X Feral life, has been battling colorectal cancer. Despite ongoing efforts to manage it, he's now in stage 4, and it has spread to his liver. Jeromy is currently in Hospice care at his childhood home. His mom, who has become a second parent to me, informed me today that Jeromy wishes to see me.
Facing this difficult time, I've spent hours on the phone with his family, and I learned more on Wednesday night. Jeromy's pain is being managed, but his mom shoulders the daily responsibilities, trying to stay strong. Jeromy, known for his close-knit circle of friends, has reached out asking for me to come see him. I plan to support his family by helping with practical needs, such as replacing appliances and addressing any other necessities.
I'm reaching out to ask for any assistance. Donations, no matter how small, will go towards easing his parents' financial burden and addressing essential repairs, such as firewood to keep the house warm, repaired/replaced appliances, general property maintenance and repairs such as cleaning gutters, powerwashing, mowing, clearing brush, fixing essential items throughout their home including roof leaks and fixtures, dump runs during property clean up, etc. to name a few. These are projects that Jeromy was managing up until he became sick and his parents are not physically able to handle these repairs themselves. This way, they can focus more on spending precious time with Jeromy during this challenging period. Much love. -Kevin"
