Hello everyone,
This past Spring my sister, Rebekah, received her diagnosis of breast cancer. This devastated our family and friends. At the age of 29 and in her 6th year of teaching, her and her husband Cody are having to change their plans including starting their family.
Rebekah just finished her 6th and final round of chemotherapy. She is scheduled to have a bilateral mastectomy in October. After surgery she will have nine more months of infusion treatments and five years of hormone therapy which will keep any cancer from returning.
Rebekah, a 4th grade teacher, is now having to stay at home and will not be able to teach in class until January, at the earliest. This situation will now make her use up her vacation and sick days, while her pay will not be the same. She loves her students and is a very dedicated teacher who leaves lasting effects on anyone she meets. I cannot put into words how special she is and I wish I could take on this disease for her.
Cody is the BEST brother in law I could ask for. He is a firefighter for the Gainesville Fire Department and has picked up a second job due to their circumstances. He is kind, selfless, and never complains about what they are going through.
Their occupations are solely based on giving back to others and to their communities. Now is the time that we come together and give back to them. They have family and friends that have stepped up in so many ways to help them but the medical bills keep coming and with our help we can soften this burden for them. Whatever is in your heart and whatever you are willing to give is very much appreciated.
Our faith in our Lord, Jesus Christ, is our comfort and allows us to realize that everything is in his plan and is good. From the bottom of my heart, I personally thank you for thinking of my family and making things a little easier for them.
God bless you,
Charlie and Sarah Culberson
