Hi, my name is Marie. I'm trying to raise funds to help my Sister and BIL.

They are true battlers and have had their fair share of ups & downs.

My sister went through breast cancer a few years ago. My nephew is autistic and relies on Mum as his career and now a traumatic medical event has put my BIL in hospital. Paul was the only income earner, while Sharon looked after the household and all of my nephews medical appointments.

A couple of weeks ago, Paul suffered what we thought was a gastro type bug that landed him in hospital, where they diagnosed a clot in his spleen. 24hrs later, while waiting for a bed on the surgical ward, he throw another clot on his brain, resulting in a stroke, that required urgent neurological surgery. The medical team has since discovered that his heart is damaged from a bacteria that was causing the clots. They are now working on his strength, preparing him for open heart surgery (within the next 2-4weeks).

He has a very long road of rehabilitation and the possibility of him ever returning to work is unknown at this stage. He's only 55

Sharon will be his full time carer, once he is allowed to come home. When that will be, is anyone's guess.

I would like use these funds, to help them to cover the mortgage and all medical expenses, parking, fuel costs, etc so they don't have to worry about where their next meal is coming from. This is a couple who are always first to jump up and help everyone else, so im just hoping, in their desperate time of need, others can help them
