Every once in a while, you get to do something that makes you feel really good about yourself. Today is one of those days! I have had the pleasure of knowing my friend, Christy Jewell, for 26 years! In that time, we have shared more full-hearted belly laughs than I than I can count. But today, I see an opportunity to help Christy as she continues to battle a very aggressive form of stage 4 breast cancer. She fights this cancer like no one I have ever met. She was first diagnosed in 2009 and went into remission. However, the breast cancer has since returned and spread to her liver, brain, gallbladder, stomach and lung. All of this and she still finds a way to keep smiling! Behind that smile is a woman who is lovely and cares more about comforting her friends and family dealing with her cancer than she worries about her own self. Christy does not ask for help, she does not ask for your pity. She just knows how to fight. Let's help her take some burden off her fight!

This brings me to this GOFUNDME. Because of her cancer, Christy had to leave her job at Sony Pictures over 15 months ago and her insurance that Sony gave her, is running out in a few months. She will have to switch insurance mid-year which means twice the amount in deductibles and monthly insurance premiums which must be paid. This will easily run her into thousands of dollars out of her pocket. To someone who has been through years of chemotherapy sesssions, 20+ surgeries, God knows how many heartbreaking conversations with doctors receiving news that would break the average person, enough is enough.

I think it would be an amazing gesture for all of us to step up and help alleviate this concern of the deductibles and insurance premiums, so she can focus on living her life with laughter and enjoyment to the best of her abilities. We have all tracked her rollercoaster ride with this terrible disease. Let’s help her take some of the stress off her shoulders by spreading it to all of ours. We love you, Christy!
