Hi friends & family,
Garrett & I recently rescued a sweet 15-week old golden doodle, Fitz! We named him that because he “Fitz” in perfectly with our little family! We fell in love with him immediately, and Eloise was such a good big sister!
Fitz seemed perfectly healthy when we picked him up Sunday evening. Unfortunately since then, Fitz has become extremely sick. He was diagnosed with parvo on Wednesday morning & our vet recommended outpatient care since his blood tests came back looking fairly good. He had some ups and downs during the next 24 hours, but we had faith he would make it through. On Thursday evening, he was becoming unresponsive and we rushed him to the emergency hospital. Fitz was diagnosed with aspirations pneumonia, sepsis, worms, yeast infection and disseminated intravascular coagulation on top of the parvo. Although the diagnoses seem to be stacked against him, he is fighting back and trying to come out on top. He has already had 2 blood transfusions at this point. The hospital is doing everything they can to save him, and we are supporting him in whatever way possible while he continues to fight. We believe in miracles & believe he came to us when we needed him most, but more importantly when he needed us most.
The goal we have set is roughly half of the costs of the vet bills we have incurred & we are humbly asking for some help if you have help to give. No matter what, Garrett & I are going to do everything we can to try and save him. Even if you are unable to help, Fitz needs all the good thoughts and prayers he can get. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
