Support Eric & His Girls While He Fights Against Cancer
Donation protected

This amazing guy needs our help. He was diagnosed with cancer and has been out of work since the end of April and will be out until September but could possibly be longer. There are still unknowns about the type/stage of cancer he has, but as of right now, he’s looking at possibly another surgery, this time to remove a kidney and then he’ll need to go through chemo. Over the next 2 weeks, he has several CT scans, MRIs, and another trip to oncology to figure it all out.
Eric is a hardworking blue collar Dad, who was already struggling financially. He has full custody of his 2 amazing girls, Meg and Kasey, and he does everything he possibly can to provide and care for his girls. It’s damn near impossible in this economy to pay rent, and provide the very basic needs for a family of 3 on just one income.
It was hard enough for Eric to digest the fact that he’s 38 and dealing with cancer, but he also found out that his Employer did not offer Short Term Disability and he would be without a paycheck while he took time off to have surgery and recover from having a large tumor removed. The only thing his Employer could offer was advancing him 2 weeks vacation. He was shocked to see they also took out his medical premiums for the weeks he would be out of work and it left him with little to nothing in the end.
Eric was able to get emergency assistance through the state for a few months and it’s hardly enough for 2 weeks of groceries and to cover his electric and phone bill. He doesn’t even have enough money to cover the co-pays for medications and gas to get to his many appointments, etc. He has a high deductible health plan and the medical bills are starting to roll in and already well over $10k.
Eric really needs to focus on his health and his girls but it’s hard when he’s dealing with such a huge financial hardship. He’s already sold everything he owns and down to little to nothing to provide for himself and his girls. I’m hoping with donations from family and friends we can help take some of this financial burden off his shoulders. I’d love to see him be able to stop worrying so much and put his time and energy into getting better and taking care of his girls. Thank you!!
