Barry Brown is a 73-year-old male, whom is a knight at the catholic church. He has a wife,3 step children and 6 granddaughters. 3.5 years ago, he was diagnosed with Cholangiocarcinoma-” a cancer in the slender tubes that carry the digestive fluid bile through the liver. It's a rare but aggressive form of cancer. Treatment includes surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation. There are fewer than 20,000 US cases per year." The cholangiocarcinoma spread to Barry’s peritoneum, liver, lungs and prostate. He was given 6 months to live. Due to research at Mayo clinic and conventional chemo therapy he was able to surpass those months. However, the chemo stopped working, the symptoms progressed and the cancer has spread throughout his chest, abdomen, lungs and prostate. Recently he has lost his ability to speak and only can write his conversation and thoughts. His only hope is a research study at MD Anderson which means his caretakers to fly him back and forth and hotel cost, plus the medication. At this time, we, as a family are asking to help us raise money so we can continue his life and possibly help create a cure for his cancer. Barry is an Airforce Veteran, he taught and sold cardiology equipment, did CTs, helped fund raisers for the poor, sheltered animals without homes. Barry is still trying to work to pay for medical insurance for himself and my disabled mom.
It is with a saddened heart to say that Barry (jo and my stepdad) went to heaven this morning. We still have medical bills to pay and now a funeral Please help donate and or share to help. God blesses
