Ken Pridgeon Portrait of a Warrior

Portrait of a Warrior, Memorial Art Gallery

Ken "The Dauber" Pridgeon has made it his mission to paint a portrait of every fallen soldier from Texas who died serving our country in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. These men and women we know as heroes.  Each family of the fallen heroes is then given a print as his way of honoring their loved one.

The current gallery is home to original paintings of which he generously donates a print of each portrait to the fallen heroes family.  Ken has done all of this work on his social security income. He has painted 350 portraits and  BTW he is 84 years old.

Ken has been featured on Texas Country Reporter, Fox 26 News in Houston, newspaper articles as well as mentions on various blogs and internet postings.

Ken is also on facebook under Ken Pridgeon or read more about him at www.ourbaytown.com or www.portraitofawarrior.org

As you step into the gallery, you are greeted by the sons and daughters of America.  The fallen heroes hang as a memorial of their unselfish gift to us all as they gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

Their eyes follow you as you stroll gazing at the painting in which the artist has meticulously portrayed their lives.  They were husbands, wives, brothers, sisters, and brave warriors who laid down their lives as they took their oath to defend the freedom we all know and love.

So many families have already received a portrait of their loved one, yet there are more to be painted.  Yet it is through the generous support of others that help the artist and gallery continue to memorialize our service men and women.

Ken "The Dauber" Pridgeon started painting while serving in the United States Air Force.

After leaving the military, he made a career  painting billboards in Houston.

Ken started his gallery (currently overflowing at 308 W. Texas Avenue in Baytown, Texas) by painting portraits of fallen heroes fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan who were from the great State of Texas, however, he has expanded his mission to include fallen heroes who fought in Iraq and Afghanistan, and lived across the United States of America.  His heart is as big as his passion.
