I had to have two stents placed inside preexisting stents because they could not turn my heart over to reach the back of my heart for the third bypass. The incision made down my chest became infected and i developed Sepsis after placing a plate in the center of my chest to close the incision. I then went into rehab facility and was administering powerful IV antibiotics. I was then released to come home September 30th. I was back to the hospital in October after being home only two weeks. I went back to hospital only to find out I had developed a staphylococcal infection in sternum and another kind of infection that was worse than Staph in my breast bone under the plate. I had three surgeries to remove dead tissue and bone. I then had a skin & fat graft from my stomach to close the incision. I went back into the medical rehabilitation hospital to continue the IV antibiotics. The infected sternam was removed. I lost my breastplate and now I have floating ribs with no protection for my heart. I was quarantined during the time I was in medical rehabilitation. I finally got home on December 23, 2024.

During the six months in hospital I was in my room only and could not be around other patients and staff unless they wore sterile clothing, gloves, and mask. During that time, I have received many medical bills for the treatment and 6 surgeries I received during that 6 month period. I have no job because i cannot drive. I cannot walk without my rolling walker. I am having a hard time paying my household bills too, much less my prescriptions or copays for follow up care. I have filed for disability but they are not processing in a timely manner due to shortage of staff.

I am grateful that I survived with all my ailments and challenges. I do believe God has a purpose for me! I don’t know what it is, but he allowed me to survive. I lost my Mom and my daughter (my best friend and care giver) in 2023 so me living through all the health issues has been also mentally draining.
