During my time in Turkey (May 2014) I had the opportunity to tutor Syrian refugee students, through that time with them I got to hear their stories. Stories of watching their own homes be blown up, not knowing where their family is, and living with the fear that they will have to go back.
With the recent influx of people seeking refuge in other countries, I see the faces of those students and my heart has been torn, not knowing what to do or how to help. The first week of November Bethany Staton and I will be leaving for one month to go to Lesvos, a Greek island which is currently receiving more than 2,000 refugees per day!
While there we will be distributing food, clothing & supplies, taking shifts at the main port of entry (lighthouse) to help refugees off boats when they land, and spending time in the refugee camps praying for families & sharing the love of Jesus. We will be prepared to aid in any way possible, as the situation can change at any moment.
Thank you for all your love and support!!
