On August 27, my dad, Larry Bohannon Jr. suffered a stroke. After being transported to Flagler Hospital by ground Rescue, he was given an MRI and a bleed was discovered in his brain. As a result, he was flown to Baptist Hospital in Jacksonville by Trama One. Once at Baptist, more tests were conducted and after finally determining a course of action, Dad went into surgery for almost 5 hours. During the surgery, a clot, damaged tissue, and a piece of a "mass" were removed.
Dad is back home now after spending 4 days in the Hospital and is doing well, but has limited vision in his right eye, slow and weak movement in his right arm, and his speech was damaged making it hard for him to put together complete sentences at times. Dad is a fighter and is giving this new challenge his all, but the financial burden to him and mom is more than they can handle on their own. My dad is a proud man who works hard and would never ask for anything but would be the first to give what he can. I am reaching out to all my friends and family as well as friends of family in an attempt to help my parents with their medical bills. So far, the bill for the helicopter transport alone was $32000. We are trying to raise $25000, but anything helps. Thank You.
