My name is Joel Dino, I am the eldest brother of Josh. He is married to Pam and have three young children, Jordan, Alec and baby Emma. I'm trying to raise funds to help cover my brother's medical bills, loss wages and general welfare of his young family.
Josh recently experienced a devasting medical setback where he underwent two major abdominal surgeries which kept him in the hospital over a month. During the first three weeks, the doctors at the hospital did know the root cause nor had a diagnosis for his condition. There were no treatment plan and recovery was very difficult without knowing what he had. This put his family, our parents and all our friends and loves ones in a stressful, full crisis mode. We were desperate to find anyone who can help him...including the possibility of a transfer to other medical facilities.
Through the power of the Internet and timely email from one of Pam's coworkers, a clue was found which led to stern conversations with all the doctors involved to coordinate various medical tests and lab works. This was a major challenge to get the doctors to talk to each other...we really needed to be forceful with them.
Within three days, a diagnosis was established...27 days later. A treatment plan was implemented and symptoms began to improve. We were lucky that his other internal organs were not damaged beyond repair.
I am happy to say that we were able to bring him home on day 30. We will continue to support him and his family as he still has a long road to 100% recovery. He will be unable to return to work for at least one month.
Pam will have to balance between taking care of Josh, the children and working at her new job after we go back home to the Bay Area. Luckily, Pam's loving mom and brother live close by.
Again it is through the power of the Internet and everyone's support that I hope to raise money for Josh Dino's medical expenses, support for his family and perhaps enlist some assistive services that will help them get back on their feet.
