Rosie was recently diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia with inversion 16, a rare and aggressive blood cancer that requires months of intensive treatment. The diagnosis came out of nowhere and her life turned upside down overnight.

Because the cancer was detected early and chemotherapy did not need to begin immediately, Rosie was given a short window to undergo emergency IVF to freeze her eggs. This was an emotionally and physically overwhelming process, made even harder by knowing that chemotherapy would follow straight after. She completed the fertility preservation successfully — and now chemotherapy has officially begun. In true Rosie fashion, she describes it as “lying here collecting potions like a wizard with a wristband,” even while facing the hardest chapter of her life.

Her treatment is expected to take four to six months. It will involve repeated hospital stays, long periods of isolation and uncertainty, and long stretches where she will be too unwell to work. With no income during treatment and recovery, and with everyday living costs continuing to build, Rosie is facing significant financial pressure at an already frightening and vulnerable time.

Rosie has always been hardworking, warm and independent. Relying on others is unfamiliar and not something she ever expected to do. Support during this period will help ease the financial burden so she can focus entirely on healing and recovering.
