Support Mark's Heart Surgery & Recovery

Hi! My name is Paula and I'm starting this fundraiser for my brother Mark. He is a single father with a beautiful 13-year-old daughter, Chloe, and an adorable dog named Cookie. Like so many other people these days, he struggles to pay the bills and keep food on the table. His life changed dramatically when, two days after Christmas while out of town visiting me, I took him to the ER for shortness of breath. He ended up being admitted, had a heart cath which revealed he needs triple or possibly even quadruple bypass surgery. It was decided he should have this done where he lives so he was sent home with a life vest which is a wearable defibrillator that provides temporary monitoring and intervention if needed in the form of an electrical shock to the heart to restore normal rhythm. He needs to wear this 24/7 until he can have the surgery done. Once the surgery is done he is looking at approximately 2 months before he can go back to work. He works as a mechanic which is not an easy job. He has not worked since Christmas.

Unfortunately he is unable to have this surgery until his diabetes is better controlled which he is working on but it will take some time. His boss is very generous and has continued to pay him but that is about to end.

The money raised will be used to pay his rent, electric, cell phone and all other living expenses, including keeping food on the table.

I know things are hard for many of us, we all have our own stories to tell and challenges we face, but any assistance you can offer would be greatly appreciated. No amount is to small.
