RONNIE SANDS, a Hopetown treasure and one of our own: has a health crisis and needs our help!

By the grace of God during a routine check doctors found a spot on Ronnie's lung. Fortunately, it was caught early, and can be treated. Although we are still in the treatment planning stage, he will need radiation, chemotherapy and possibly surgery. All these treatments require extensive resources!

Ronnie Sands family is from Hopetown, Guana and Man O War. His family is traced back well over 200 years in the Cays. His mother: Rowena was born in Hopetown in a house still called Spinneydune by the Jib, just like her mother: Eureka (born in 1891) before her. Ronnie (like all boys did back then) started work at the age of 14 at Edwin's Boat Yard for his uncle Edwin, brother Darwin and cousin Keith Albury on Man O War. Later Ronnie worked for his father Basil, where he learned wood working and home building. Now Ronnie Sands Construction is one of the most respected builders on Elbow Cay. That's how most of us know Ronnie today.

After Hurrican Floyd in 1999, Ronnie rebuilt Sea Spray for Monty Albury and hasn't stopped building since.

After Hurricane Dorian, Ronnie who suffered his own loss, gathered himself and his team and returned to Elbow Cay to assist the local community and his own clients in what was one the most devasting of times in many of our lives.

Ronnie has built many homes on Elbow including the iconic Shangri La. He has rebuilt or added onto many of the homes on the island.

RONNIE HAS BUILT FOR SOME OF US- HE HAS EMPLOYED SOME OF US -HE HAS ALWAYS SUPORTED US! He is a wonderfully honest, faithful, God loving man that always has a "DO THE RIGHT THING" attitude

RONNIE NEEDS US AND WE NEED RONNIE! He has caught his diagnosis early but needs our help!

We have generous donors who will match your contributions! Ronnie doesn't have the resources to fight this battle alone. Those of you who know Ronnie know that he would never ask for help himself. Ronnie is a man of strong faith. He has the heart and determination to fight and win this battle.
