Hi everyone,

I am fund raising to help get our little fight team achieve big things in America at this years World Championships. There are 6 on the team in today, with two of the team defending their world titles.

So why am I doing this?

Anyone that knows me knows that I love the kickboxing gym that I go to. I started there 5 years ago, as an overweight and unhappy 34 year old.

In the last 5 years I have made the best friends, trained hard and have achieved my own personal goals with the support of those at the club, my chosen family.

Each year the World's come around, and each year we train hard, me along for the ride, with early mornings as standard, 6 days a week of tough training.

As someone that came to this sport late, I wanted to find a way to contribute to the club and the success of these amazing fighters, and me showing up to support with training made the most sense. So every year, I give my time to support one fighter in particular, Maddie.

Maddie is 16, and the daughter of Kelly who owns Evolution Martial Arts, both current title holders and top fighters in the sport. Maddie goals to school, teaches does 1-2-1's and is an all round amazing role model to the kids, and actually all of us. Maddie is the epitome of commitment and excellence.

Every year we up our game, with gym sessions, fight team training and running. With 6am running before school, or just before an hours kickboxing at night!

We usually do all of this under the radar, just a standard to what it takes to be the best.

So this year me and Maddie will be running 5K day a Day in May to raise money for the team to get there!
